Vespa Large Frame - 70's onward - Identification

Bikes made mainly in the 1970's and onward, had a standard frame style shared with many scooter models. Below is a guide on how to identify them with corresponding pictures below:

  • Both the left and right side cowls are removable.
  • A spare tire is located under the left side cowl
  • The engine castings are in two sections only; the two crankcase halves
  • The frame tunnel from the rear brake pedal to the rear does not flare out.
  • There is a single engine bolt through the frame.
