Original Gauges

The original gauges are a little bulky especially when the bikini fairing is removed. I seemed to always have problems with my tach cable too so when I changed out the front end of the bike it seemed a good idea to consider what other options there were.

So my wish list was as follows:

  • An analog tachometer but digitally controlled so I didn't have to mess with the tach cable any longer.
  • Small and compact.
  • More accurate temp gauge.
  • A clock would be nice.


After asking around online I was recommended to the following discussion board topic where I got hooked on the Yamaha R1 gauge cluster idea. I contaced the author who allowed mr to do my own write up here.
